In the second of a three-part series, ecologist Deborah Perkins will shed light on the unique ecology, behavior, and habitat needs of these flying mammals — from feeding habits to maternity roosts, and more.

Although bat populations remain particularly vulnerable, you can offset their declines with a few simple practices in your own landscape. Learn:

• How bats are uniquely equipped to live out their lives in darkness.

• How to provide good habitat for female bats and their young. 

• Bat-friendly lighting practices. 

This event begins with an informative indoor presentation, followed by an interactive guided experience in the dusky bat habitats at Gilsland Farm.
